Former Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf has made a bold prediction about India’s chances in the 2023 World Cup, which will be hosted by the Asian giants. Yousuf believes that India will not lose any match in the tournament and will lift the trophy for the third time.
Yousuf, who played 90 Tests and 288 ODIs for Pakistan, said that India have a strong batting line-up and a balanced bowling attack, which makes them the favourites for the 2023 World Cup. He also praised the Indian Premier League (IPL) for producing quality players and giving them exposure to international cricket.
“I don’t think India will lose any match in this World Cup. They have a very good team, especially in batting. They have depth and variety in bowling as well. They have the advantage of playing at home and they know the conditions very well,” Yousuf said in an interview with Cricket Pakistan.
Yousuf added that the IPL has been a key factor in India’s success in recent years, as it has helped the young players to develop their skills and confidence. He said that Pakistan should also have a domestic league of similar standard to compete with India.
“The IPL has made a big difference for India. They have got so many options and talent. The IPL gives them experience and exposure to play against the best players in the world. Pakistan should also have a league like that, where our players can learn from the top players and improve their game,” Yousuf said.
