India’s Inaugural Shooting League Set to Launch in 2025

In an exciting development for sports enthusiasts, India is gearing up to introduce its first franchise league dedicated to sport shooting. Named the Shooting League of India (SLI), this groundbreaking initiative is slated for launch in 2025. The league has been proposed by Shri. Kalikesh Narayana Singh Deo, the President of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), and has received the green light from the NRAI Governing Body. However, it is still awaiting approval from the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).

The primary objective of the SLI is to elevate the profile of shooting sports within the country. By making the sport more accessible and appealing, the league aims to attract a broader audience and increase its popularity. Additionally, the SLI seeks to make shooting sports self-sustainable by introducing innovative formats and team structures that will not only engage existing fans but also draw in new spectators and sponsors.

With the introduction of the Shooting League of India, the future of sport shooting in the country looks promising. The league is expected to provide a significant boost to the sport, helping it reach new heights in terms of both participation and viewership.
