Naomi Osaka, the ex-World No. 1 in women’s tennis, has officially withdrawn from the Billie Jean King Cup finals. This decision came after an MRI conducted in Beijing showed that she had a bulged disc in her back and ruptured abdominal muscles. As a result of these injuries, Osaka had to retire from her last-16 match at the China Open and will now be absent for the remainder of the season. This includes missing the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup finals that are set to take place in Malaga, Spain.
