Udita Duhan Tops Bids in Hockey India League Women’s Player Auction

During the initial day of the Hockey India League women’s player auction, Indian defender Udita Duhan garnered the highest bid. She was bought by Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers for a substantial amount of Rs 32 lakh. This auction is a pivotal moment as it leads up to the first season of the women’s league, which will commence in Ranchi. The auction saw fervent bidding among four franchises as they assembled their teams. Notably, Yibbi Jansen from the Netherlands was the most expensive foreign player purchased, with a bid of Rs 29 lakh.
