Hockey India League Auction LIVE, Day 3: Spotlight on Salima, Savita, and Other Elite Players

The highly anticipated women’s auction for the Hockey India League is set to take place on October 15. This marks a historic moment as it is the first time women’s teams will be participating, with the league initially featuring four teams.

A total of over 250 domestic female players, along with more than 70 international players, are slated to be auctioned. Among them, prominent Indian players such as Salima Tete and Savita Punia, as well as global stars like Charlotte Stapenhorst from Germany and Maria Granatto from Argentina, are expected to draw considerable attention.

Each team in the newly formed women’s league will be composed of 24 players. This includes 16 Indian players and 8 international players. The teams will each have a budget cap of Rs 2 crore to build their rosters.
