Neeraj Chopra, the Indian javelin throw star, recently shared how an advice from his Kenyan counterpart, Julius Yego, helped him calm his racing mind before he pulled off a season’s best effort to finish second in the Diamond League in Lausanne, Switzerland. Chopra revealed that Yego advised him to “stay relaxed,” which proved to be decisively helpful.
Chopra admitted that the competition on the day was “strange” as he did not feel he was up to it when he started. However, with Yego’s advice in mind, he managed to calm his nerves and deliver an impressive performance. Yego, on the other hand, finished sixth with an effort of 83m.
